Standard deviation of the absolute value of the observation residuals, where the residuals are defined as the observation minus the grid interpolated to the observation location. Statistics were calculated for only those observations contained within the specified RSAS verification region . Statistics are given for the new 15km RSAS (RSAS2), the 32 km Eta (Eta), and also when appropriate (in CONUS), the 40km RUC2 (RUC2) and the 60km RSAS (RSAS1). The "hourly1" and "daily1" buttons contains statistics for RSAS/RUC SLP, NWS SLP, altimeter, pressure change, and u-component grids; the "hourly2" and "daily2" buttons contain statistics for v-component, potential temperature, temperature, dewpoint temperature, and dewpoint depression grids.
